A K-D Tree Ray Tracing Acceleration Algorithm for Calculating Electromagnetic Scattering Characteristics

In order to solve the efficiency problem of electromagnetic scattering characteristics calculation of complex targets, this paper uses k-dimensional (K-d) tree to accelerate the ray tracing process of bouncing ray method. By optimizing the node splitting plane, the intersection calculation of rays and triangular face elements is reduced, thereby improving the efficiency of ray tracing. Through experimental verification of complex models, the results show that the proposed algorithm has high efficiency. The time domain shooting and bouncing ray (TDSBR) method combined with physical optics and geometric optics can handle multiple reflections and scattering of electromagnetic waves on the target surface. When dealing with complex targets, it can better simulate the propagation path of electromagnetic waves and provide more accurate results.
