Security Enhancement Using Scalable Blockchain-Based Multi-Factor Authentication

In the digital era, the security of online systems is of the utmost importance, with multifactor authentication (MFA) becoming a crucial element of robust cybersecurity strategies. Traditional MFA systems, while somewhat effective, often face centralized vulnerabilities and struggle to adapt to sophisticated cyber threats. Addressing these issues, our research proposes an innovative solution, a Blockchain-based Multifactor Authentication (BMFA) system, designed to improve the security, resilience, and adaptability of MFA. This paper presents the conceptual framework, design principles, and technical foundations of BMFA, laying the foundation for an in-depth examination of its methodology, implementation, and potential to transform digital security paradigms. The synergy of security and scalability significantly boosts BMFA’s performance in response to an increasingly complex cybersecurity landscape, demonstrating how Blockchain technology can be leveraged to secure digital identities and assets more effectively. Furthermore, in terms of scalability, the proposed approach offers superior load balancing compared to existing techniques.
