A Super Wide Bandwidth Mesh Antenna Featuring Omnidirectional Radiation Characteristic
Modern wireless communication and broadcasting systems need miniature wideband antennas to improve their transmission capacity. In this paper, an omnidirectional mesh antenna with super wide bandwidth is proposed. The antenna utilizes a conical monopole structure loaded with a capacitive ring and shorting pillars to radiate omnidirectionally in its bandwidth. Simulation results show the antenna's VSWR is less than 2.5 from 70 MHz to 2000 MHz while its height is 0.0687 <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\lambda$</tex> at 70 MHz.
