A 76-81 GHz Microstrip Comb-Line Array Antenna with High Sidelobe Suppression and Wide Beam for Automotive Radar Sensors
In this paper, a wideband microstrip comb-line antenna array is presented for short-range automotive radar sensors. The impedance bandwidth of the antenna covers the whole commonly used frequency band of automotive radar sensors (76–81 GHz). The antenna is a 1×20 antenna array with a wide beamwidth and low sidelobe level. The antenna radiating elements are placed side-by-side, which results in the antenna being able to realize the effect of high gain. Simulation results show that the antenna has a 16% (68.6-81.5GHz) impedance bandwidth and a gain up to 14.5 dBi, half power beamwidth wider than 107°. It reach the lowest sidelobe level of -18.8 dB at 80 GHz.
