A 77 GHz 5-bit T-type Passive Phase Shifter with Amplitude Consistency Compensation
A 5-bit T-type passive phase shifter with amplitude consistency compensation technique is proposed for automotive radar at 77GHz. The amplitude compensation switches are introduced to make the amplitude of the phase shifter closer between phase-shifting state and non-phase-shifting state. The phase shifter is fabricated in a 65nm CMOS technology, and the measured results demonstrate excellent performance, achieving a maximum root-mean-square (RMS) amplitude error (Max RMS<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">dB</inf>) of 0.7 dB and a maximum root-mean-square phase error (Max RMS<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">phase</inf>) of 5.4○within 76–81 GHz.
