Withdrawal of Votes of the State Duma Deputies by the Parliamentary Party in the Law Making Process
The study is devoted to the analysis of mechanisms for the protection of national sovereignty in a representative democracy. Special attention is paid to the institution of revocation of parliamentary mandates as one of the instruments of direct democracy. The author substantiates the need for legislative consolidation of the procedure for revoking the votes of deputies elected on party lists and in single-mandate districts in some cases. The paper examines the role of consolidated voting in ensuring the representativeness of the legislature.
