Bilateral Oral Verrucous Carcinoma –A Rare Clinical Presentation and Management Approach
Oral verrucous carcinoma is a rare, low-grade variant of squamous cell carcinoma that typically presents as a slow growing, exophytic mass. It is locally aggressive but does not usually metastasize to regional lymph nodes or distant sites. Risk factors include tobacco chewing, alcohol consumption, and poor oral hygiene. Histologically, it is characterized by well-differentiated squamous epithelium with minimal cytologic atypia. Treatment often involves surgical excision, and the prognosis is generally favorable with a high survival rate.
