A Study on the Trauma Phenomena in Multicultural Families
The purpose of this study is to identify the trauma experiences faced by multicultural families and to explore effective ways to address these trauma phenomena. The research was conducted through literature review and case analysis. The trauma phenomena that can arise in multicultural families were identified as follows: 1) stress and trauma caused by cultural conflict, 2) trauma related to conflicts and anxiety stemming from differences in language, religion, and values, 3) trauma due to social prejudice and discrimination, 4) trauma resulting from differences within the multicultural family, and 5) trauma associated with anxiety from economic difficulties. When examining the trends in trauma research in counseling, psychotherapy, and education, it was noted that there has been no utilization of AI tools for addressing trauma in multicultural families. Therefore, it was suggested that tools for care, educational approaches, and therapeutic approaches utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) for survivors of trauma in multicultural families should be developed and commercialized as soon as possible.
