Addressing the Demands of Learning in Materials Forming Mechanics Based on the PBL Method
This study employs the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) methodology to effect a teaching reform in the undergraduate course on Materials Forming Mechanics. In consideration of the characteristics of the course, group learning is structured around the prospective applications of the theories and methods of materials forming mechanics in the field of materials processing. By analyzing the group reports submitted by students, we were able to ascertain the educational needs of university students with regard to course objectives, content, implementation processes, and teaching evaluations. In light of this findings, the teaching cases were updated, the teaching methods were improved, and students' learning interest was enhanced.
