IMPACT OF LEADERSHIP STYLES ON THE TEACHING EFFECTIVENESS: A CASE STUDY OF UNIVERSITY TEACHERS IN CHINA
This study investigates the impact of leadership styles on teaching effectiveness within the context of Chinese universities. Focusing on transformational, transactional, and servant leadership, the research explores how these styles influence educators' performance and the mediating role of organizational citizenship behavior (OCB). A quantitative approach was employed, involving a survey of university teachers across various academic disciplines. The results indicate that transformational and transactional leadership styles have a significant positive effect on teaching effectiveness, while servant leadership's impact is less pronounced. The study also reveals that OCB moderates the relationship between leadership styles and teaching effectiveness, suggesting that a supportive organizational culture can enhance the positive influence of leadership on educational outcomes. The findings contribute to the theoretical understanding of leadership in educational settings and offer practical implications for university administrators and policymakers aiming to enhance teaching quality through the promotion of effective leadership strategies and the cultivation of an organizational culture that encourages OCB.
