A Pricing Method for A new type of Meteorological Index Insurance

Fluctuations in meteorological resources present significant challenges to the stability and financial returns of wind energy projects, thereby increasing the complexity of revenue forecasting. This paper proposes an innovative index insurance product based on meteorological resource fluctuations to address the financial risks arising from such fluctuations. When the actual meteorological resource index deviates from the predetermined threshold, the insurance product provides compensation to cover the resulting revenue losses, ensuring the stability of investors' returns.

Abstract

Fluctuations in meteorological resources present significant challenges to the stability and financial returns of wind energy projects, thereby increasing the complexity of revenue forecasting. This paper proposes an innovative index insurance product based on meteorological resource fluctuations to address the financial risks arising from such fluctuations. When the actual meteorological resource index deviates from the predetermined threshold, the insurance product provides compensation to cover the resulting revenue losses, ensuring the stability of investors' returns.
