The Visualization of the New Trends in Holocaust Memory Research Through Data Mining

This paper aims to discover the new trend of “Holocaust Memory” research by analyzing 472 theme-related journal articles which have been published during the last 10 years (2015-2024). All these journals were collected from the Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI), and CiteSpace 6.3. R1 was selected as the tool for data mining and the visualization of the findings. The cooperation between institutions and authors as well as the correlation of keywords will be clearly presented in knowledge graphs. Through data mining, nine clusters based on keywords have been formed: #0 Child, #1 Holocaust Memory, #2 Collective Memory, #3 Social Media, #4 Political Speech, #5 Cultural Memory, #6 Dark Tourism, #7 Narrative, and #8 Asylum Seekers. Future research is expected to address the excessive generalization and politicization of Holocaust memory and the complex ethical and moral issues it raises.
