A Study of Modified Mobile Church Application for Filipino Catholics

Eighty percent of the country comprises Christians, and throughout history, Filipinos have shown their strong religious faith. This made the researchers investigate applications that focus on churches that cater to Filipino Catholics, wherein the researchers also found out that these kinds of applications are few to none. This research aims to improve an existing application called “The Church” app to have features suited to Filipino Catholic Churches and to address the lack of mobile applications for churches. The study will focus on adding certain features which can make “The Church app” a viable application for Filipino churchgoers. For the researchers to implement an app that will be suited to Filipino Catholics, they explored elements within “The Church” and look at what can be done to improve and be conformed to Filipino Catholics by also asking them their thoughts about the prototype that the researchers designed. The researchers also gathered quantitative results from studies related to our objective to improve existing mobile applications. The researchers collected data by creating a prototype of the mobile application and a survey that the respondents will answer afterward. The researchers gathered five (5) random churchgoers aged 18–75 from four (4) churches in Dasmarinas City, Cavite, as the study's respondents. After the respondents have tried the prototype, they will answer a survey questionnaire based on System Usability Scale (SUS) questionnaire. The study was able to answer the research gaps and questions; Although there were imperfections in the study, such as having a slight unsatisfactory with ease of use and efficiency in the prototype, the result of the System Usability Scale of the prototype generated an 88 SUS Score, which translates to an above average score in System Usability.
