A Photonic Crystal Fiber Based Pseudomonas Aeruginosa Bacteria Sensor
This work intended to present a photonic crystal fiber(PCF) based sensor for detection of Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria. It is a water born bacteria which is known for its resistance toward many antibiotics and is the cause of many healthcare settings. The proposed sensing structure is ideated on Surface plasmon resonance(SPR) phenomenon and shows high sensitivity towards the optical properties of Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria. FEM was used to simulate the presented PCF structure. The phase matching for the proposed sensor was occurs at 0.694μm, 0.738 μm and 0.807 μm. The maximum wavelength sensitivity of 5000 nm/RIU was acheived within the analyte refractive index of 1.37 to 1.39. The proposed sensor will find its many applications to enhance diagnostics capabilities in microbiology, public health, and environmental studies.
