Image Encryption Techniques: A Survey
The rapid advancement of communication networks has intensified the need for secure image transmission methods, leading to significant developments in image encryption techniques. This paper illustrates a systematic study of some encryption techniques that can be applied to the security of image information in various applications. An analysis of comparative literature over 25 years showcases the emergence of these methods and assesses their respective positive and negative aspects. There are many algorithms such as AES, RSA, Blowfish, Quantum, DNA based encryption, and new algorithms will be used to ensure image integrity, secrecy, and confidentiality. The analyzed performance metrics include encryption speed, complexity, and resistance to different attacks, which provide further insights into the applicability of each method. The survey aims to provide valuable insights into current developments in image encryption technology and potential future research opportunities, emphasizing the importance of selecting appropriate encryption techniques for specific environments and challenges.
