Robotic Grasping Dynamics: Modelling and Simulation in Simulink with Simscape Multibody

In the field of automation, precise control and modelling of robotic gripping are essential for efficient and reliable product utilization. This paper presents an overview of robotics modelling and simulation utilizing Simulink in conjunction with Simscape Multibody. This method leverages Simulink's advanced simulation capabilities to design and examine the dynamic behavior of robotic grippers. Simscape Multibody generates lifelike models of mechanical components and their interactions. The process involves developing a comprehensive multibody model of the robot gripper, encompassing the framework, actuators, joints, and contact points. The gripping technique was assessed on diverse objects with varying shapes and dimensions to measure factors such as grip stability, force distribution, and response time. By integrating control algorithms into Simulink, robot parameters can be adjusted and optimized in real-time to enhance performance. The findings aim to confirm the efficacy of the proposed simulation model in replicating real-world robotics scenarios. This research showcases the potential of sophisticated simulation tools to facilitate the development of human-like robots, enhancing their flexibility and reliability. This approach establishes a precedent for utilizing a testbed to improve processes and drive innovation in robotics.
