Sovetskoye Shampanskoye, or about the Ideological Fight with Names

This article is devoted to the phenomenon of ideological involvement of proper names. The basis for these considerations are the previous findings regarding revolutionary iconoclasm and its influence on the formation of onomasticons. As an example of an iconoclastic name, the unit Sovetskoye Shampanskoye was indicated. Attention was also paid to the contemporary ideological name change. The analysis of the impact of the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian war on proper names was indicated as a research perspective.
