AI Used in Healthcare and Data Privacy
This rapid integration of AI into healthcare systems has brought in an era of advancements in medicine from diagnostic capabilities to the most advanced treatment plans that are tailormade for a person. Great problems brought with this revolution in technology pertain to security and privacy maintenance over health data. Increasingly using vast amounts of sensitive information about patients, AI applications also increase the potential risks of data breaches or unauthorized access that raise critical ethical and legal concerns. This review article discusses in depth the role of AI in many areas of safeguarding health care data and technological innovations thereby protecting patient privacy, including federated learning, homomorphic encryption, and differential privacy. AI solutions further analysis and use of information without breaching the confidentiality of data, thus reducing many of the drawbacks correlated with the transfer and storage of data.
