The Role of Artificial Intelligence in the Management of Long-term Care and Prevention
Managing common chronic conditions puts enormous pressure on healthcare systems. This is why it is timely that, in the case of chronic diseases, AIl encourages preventive measures and long-duration control, which is likely to bring new trends to the treatment vector. This review summarises the current state of artificial intelligence in chronic disease management, including spearheads, control therapy, individualized treatment, and patient engagement. We outline pathways for future AI use and development in that area and detail the advantages and disadvantages of AI implementation. Controlling chronic diseases is also a rehabilitation strategy to help recover the patient’s health and eliminate comorbidities. The management of chronic conditions in health care has improved remarkably due to AI, clinical decision support systems, remote patient monitoring, predictive analytics, and patient participation through personalized medication. Chronic illnesses, despite being a global concern, are burdensome to healthcare. Hence, as chronic diseases by nature require more focus on prevention and prolonged treatment, AI stands to greatly impact the management of these diseases. This paper presents evidence of how the management of chronic disease, in its various forms, is being aided by the use of artificial intelligence today. We talk about the benefits and challenges of implementing AI and present a vision for the further use and development of AI in management.
