Wearable Technology and Its Effect on the Provision of Healthcare

By facilitating on-going health monitoring and offering real-time data to support early disease detection and prevention, wearable technology is completely changing the healthcare industry. Vital indications like heart rate, physical activity, and other important health parameters can be remotely monitored by devices like fitness trackers, smart watches, and augmented reality (AR) headsets. This technology improves patient outcomes by enabling healthcare practitioners to give prompt, personalised care when integrated with electronic health records (EHRs). By seeing possible health problems before they worsen, these wearable’s not only help proactive healthcare but also provide individuals greater control over how actively they manage their own health. Wearable technology gives medical practitioners accurate, current insights that enable more deliberate and focused decision-making by seamlessly gathering and transferring data. The present use of wearable technology in healthcare is examined in this study, along with its advantages, disadvantages, and prospects for enhancing patient care going forward. The delivery of healthcare could be revolutionised by the integration of various technologies, becoming more patient-centered, responsive, and efficient.
