The Fantasy Island project is an educational innovation initiative that uses generative Artificial Intelligence and role-playing games to enhance English language learning in a secondary school in El Morell, Catalonia. The project is based on clear and aligned pedagogical objectives, such as fostering active and creative participation, improving oral comprehension, promoting collaborative work, and developing plurilingual competences. To achieve this, the project integrates state-of-the-art technological tools, such as Dungeon Alchemist, Foundry Virtual Tabletop, ChatGPT and Dall-e, that allow the teacher to design maps, narratives and images adapted to the level and interests of the students. These tools help reduce the workload and increase the motivation and interest of the learners. The project has shown a significant impact on the teaching practice and the academic performance of the learners, as well as on the sustainability and transfer of the results, obtaining international recognition from prestigious events and participating in awards in the field of education and educational technology.
