A Case Report on the Improvement of Arrhythmia Caused by Ventricular Premature Contractions through a Complex Korean Medicine Treatment Focusing on Chungsimyeonja-tang and Modified Saengmaek-san</italic&g
Objective: This case report demonstrates the effects of Chungsimyeonja-tang (CSYJT) and Iksim-tang (IST) in managing premature ventricular contractions (PVC) and musculoskeletal pain caused by a car accident.Case Presentation: A late-60s female presented with musculoskeletal pain and PVC detected during pulse diagnosis following a car accident. She reported palpitations, which scored 5 on the numeric rating scale (NRS), and a fluttering sensation in her back, which began after a COVID-19 vaccination in 2021. Electrocardiography (ECG) confirmed PVC with premature QRS complexes. Treatment included 10 days of CSYJT followed by 10 days of IST, combined with nonpharmacological traditional Korean treatment (TKM). By Day 20, the PVC had resolved, as identified by a normalized ECG, and palpitation improved to NRS 0.Conclusion: This case demonstrates the potential of TKM for treating PVC and related palpitations not previously treated or managed appropriately, thus improving quality of life through an integrative approach.
