The Perception and Issues of Women’s Taekwondo Reflected in Big Data
The purpose of this study is to provide the basic data for policy development related to the advancement of women's Taekwondo by analyzing public perceptions and areas of interest using big data analysis techniques. For this purpose, keyword search volume analysis, text mining, and CONCOR analysis were conducted. First, the keyword search volume analysis results showed the highest search volume in July 2021, which coincides with the timing of the Taekwondo events at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. It is presumed that public interest in women's Taekwondo increased due to the Taekwondo competitions and the achievements of female athletes during the Olympic Games. Second, as a result of keyword frequency and TF-IDF analysis,"training" showed the highest frequency. This suggests a high level of interest in women’s Taekwondo training programs. Third, the N-gram analysis revealed the co-occurrence of keywords related to adult women’s Taekwondo training and female Taekwondo instructors. This can be interpreted as reflecting the growing demand for specialized training programs for adult women and for female Taekwondo instructors. Fourth, the CONCOR analysis grouped the data into clusters related to training purposes/effects, Taekwondo club information, competition information, and Olympic issues. Through this, it was possible to identify the public's interest in topics such as the purpose and effects of Taekwondo training, Taekwondo club information, Olympic-related issues in relation to women's Taekwondo.
