Relationship among place attachment, past experience, constraints and coping in outdoor recreation
This study aimed to explore the relationships between place attachment, past experience, leisure constraints, and coping strategies. The results showed that place attachment plays a dual role – fostering sensitivity to interpersonal constraints while also discouraging the application of problem-focused coping. On the other hand, past experience facilitated the application of both problem-focused and emotion focused coping strategies. The results also demonstrated that intrapersonal and interpersonal constraints positively predicted problem-focused coping, while all three types of constraints positively affected emotion-focused coping.
