Analytical Study of Blood Flow through a Tapered Stenosed Artery: Impact of Arterial Shape on Fluid Dynamics
This study presents an analytical investigation into the dynamics of blood flow through a tapered stenosed artery, focusing on the influence of arterial shape on fluid dynamics. The arterial medium is modeled as a power law fluid. Governing equations for laminar, incompressible, and non-Newtonian fluid flow subject to appropriate boundary conditions are solved. Perturbation mathematical method has used to get the analytical expressions. Equations are derived for key flow parameters, including velocity components, volumetric flow rate, wall shear stress, and pressure gradient. The findings reveal significant insights into the impact of arterial shape on fluid dynamics, highlighting how variations in artery geometry affect velocity profiles, pressure gradients, and wall shear stress distributions. Specifically, the study observes notable changes in wall shear stress with alterations in the tapering angle of artery. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of the complex interplay between arterial geometry and blood flow dynamics, with implications for diagnosis and treatment of vascular diseases.
