Synthesis of Novel Quinoline and Benzthaizole Analogues for The Evaluation of Anticancer Activity

The current research work involves the synthesis of new quinoline and benzothiazole analogues, with the goal of determining their anticancer efficacy. Quinoline and benzothiazole frameworks have sparked widespread interest in medicinal chemistry due to their various biological characteristics, including anticancer activity. A variety of substituted quinoline and benzothiazole compounds were synthesized using  with reaction conditions optimized to increase yields and purity. The produced compounds were characterized utilizing physical parameters like melting point and TLC and structures were confirmed by IR   NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. To examine the anticancer potential of the synthesized compounds, preliminary cytotoxicity experiments were performed on A549 cancer cell lines using MTT assay method for  lung cancer. The findings showed that numerous compounds have promise antiproliferative properties, with IC50 values much near or equal when compared with standard methotrexate drug. Further mechanistic research and structure-activity relationship (SAR) analysis are needed to understand the method of action and select lead compounds for further development. This study demonstrates the potential of quinoline and benzothiazole analogues as anticancer drugs and establishes the framework for future research in this area.
