The city of Manado confronts significant environmental challenges including frequent flooding, inadequate waste management, severe traffic congestion, and urban sprawl. These innovation concepts explore strategies to address Manado's environmental challenges, emphasizing the importance of improving drainage systems, implementing comprehensive waste management, expanding public transportation, and protecting green spaces. A key focus is the integration of vertical forests in high-rise buildings, utilizing native and adaptive plant species suited to Manado's tropical climate. Architectural and horticultural innovations are discussed to ensure successful implementation, highlighting the benefits of enhancing biodiversity, air quality, and urban aesthetics.
