DIARY NOTES OF THE GYMNASIUM STUDENT S. F. PLATONOV (JANUARY 14 - APRIL 4, 1878): “DELVE INTO MY DIARY...”. PART 4
One more notebook with diary entries of the gymnasium student S. Platonov covers a short time period - about 4 months. Here we can fi nd interesting refl ections on the gymnasium, an authoritative educational institution, the director of which was the infamous F. F. Bychkov. The issue of a handwritten journal organized by high school SHAPE \* MERGEFORMAT students, where they placed their own works was an important area of the youth’s search. The appendix represents a sample of one of those. It is interesting, fi rst of all, due to the author’s arguments about society and the question of how to change it. Many of the recordings were made under the impression of S. Platonov’s summer acquaintance with the sisters E. N. Kalaidovich and S. Y. Mitkova. Unexpectedly the recordings include a correspondence acquaintance with a Moscow student V. N. Berkut. Waiting to meet new acquaintances is a diffi cult ordeal. The time of youth requires a new understanding of the female sex. Therefore, communication with women in different situations, such as conversations, arguments, walks, entertainment events, the manuscripts of feuilletons, allows determining the attitude of the author of the diary entries to them. The published diary entries involve the graduation of S. F. Platonov’s gymnasium.
