A Case Study on Customs Protection System for the Intellectual Property Rights : Focusing on Korea-China Trade Case

The rapid development of science and technology and the increase in the openness of each country to the outside world have improved the scope, scale, and degree of international exchange in the global trade and distribution fields. The rapid growth of an innovative economy based on intellectual property rights is an essential condition for the rapid growth of the economies of both Korea and China. Since formal diplomatic relations in 1992, as trade between the two countries has become closer, the distribution of products that infringe on intellectual property rights has increased, disrupting the normal international trade order. Therefore, before trade transactions, customs play a very important role in protecting intellectual property rights. Since the two countries have different social cultures and legal systems, there are many differences in the border protection system for intellectual property rights between the two countries. By comparing and studying the border protection systems for intellectual property rights of the two countries, it was intended to discover problems in the 現system and further strengthen the intellectual property protection work of customs.
