A Case Report of Proximal Femoral Epiphysiolysis during Reduction of Hip Dislocation in an Adolescent
Hip dislocations may occur in both children and adults following accidents involving vehicles, or falls. Reduction within six hours of damage is currently encouraged since it is one of the most important variables in avoiding avascular necrosis of the femoral head. The treating surgeon must be aware of the likelihood of creating a complete separation between the physis and the femoral neck during an attempted reduction due to the potential biomechanical injury of the physis or capital femoral epiphysis (CFE). We are reporting a case of proximal femoral epiphysiolysis during attempted reduction of hip dislocation in an adolescent.
