CHARACTERISTICS OF THE NEUROPSYCHIATRIC STATUS OF PREMATURE AND FULL-TERM INFANTS
The object of the study was 72 newborn children. Of these, 56 babies were born prematurely at gestation from 22 to 36 weeks. The comparison group included 16 full-term infants. When analyzing the results of the assessment of neuropsychiatric development, patients of the main group significantly lagged behind the age norm in the development of neuropsychiatric functions: social and preverbal development, perception, gross and fine motor skills. For patients with encephalopathy of prematurity, unlike full-term newborns, the structural changes of the brain detected by neurosonography are typical. In full-term children, no changes were detected in the structures of the brain and the cerebrospinal fluid space.
