POSTNATAL ADAPTATION OF FULL-TERM NEWBORNS FROM MOTHERS WITH TYPE 1 DIABETES MELLITUS AND GESTATIONAL DIABETES MELLITUS
educing the increase in the incidence of type 1 diabetes mellitus in the population is one of the main objectives of modern public health care. In the present study, 150 newborns were examined (50 infants from mothers with type 1 DM, 50 from mothers with GDM, and 50 healthy newborns). It was found that for the period of early adaptation in newborns from mothers with type 1 DM and GDM there are changes in the respiratory and nervous system. Also, the increased concentration of maternal 344 autoantibodies to islet cells in the blood serum of newborns of the first study group increases the risk of type 1 DM development in this category of children.
