AI Approaches to Managing Ménière's Disease: A Survey of Microfluidic and Wearable Technologies for Vertigo Relief
Ménière’s disease is a chronic inner ear disorder characterized by episodes of vertigo, hearing loss, and tinnitus. Traditional treatments, including medications and surgical options, often fail to provide long-term relief. This survey explores emerging technological advancements in vertigo management, focusing on programmable microfluidic devices and wearable sensors integrated with artificial intelligence (AI) for personalized treatment. These innovations enable precise, real-time drug delivery and symptom monitoring, offering improved control over Ménière’s disease. The paper discusses the principles behind microfluidic technology, the benefits of AI-enhanced wearables, and the potential of personalized, adaptive treatment systems. Challenges, including device miniaturization, power management, patient compliance, and regulatory approval, are addressed. Future directions are highlighted, emphasizing the promise of AI-driven, minimally invasive therapies in enhancing patient outcomes. The integration of these technologies represents a significant leap forward in managing Ménière’s disease.
