The Role of Vision 2030 in Transforming Saudi Arabia's Logistics Sector: A Qualitative Approach
Apart of a broader economic reform effort, Vision 2030 aims to decrease Saudi Arabia's reliance on oil exports and diversify across a number of sectors, logistics included. By conducting qualitative research, which involved interviews with policy-makers, practitioners in the industry and logistics professionals, this report demonstrates the means through which inducements such as infrastructure development; digital transformation; sustainable development and human capital have been brought about through Vision 2030 in logistics. The results show how Vision 2030 has breathed life into this sector. The result is that Saudi Arabia becomes a regional logistics and transportation hub. Nonetheless, challenges remain for achieving sustainable development and localize the workforce.
