Cybersecurity Intrusion Detection Techniques Using Stack Ensemble Machine Learning

In the dynamic realm of cybersecurity, ensuring efficient intrusion detection is crucial for safeguarding networks and systems from malevolent actions, dangers, and unauthorised entry. Conventional detection technologies, such as firewalls and systems based on signatures, have limitations when it comes to dealing with dynamic and complex threats. This research investigates the use of stack ensemble machine learning methods to improve intrusion detection systems (IDS). This strategy enhances detection accuracy, robustness, and scalability by amalgamating many base models into a meta-learner, thereby capitalising on the benefits of different approaches. The technique encompasses the process of preparing data, performing cross-validation, and selecting base learners, resulting in notable enhancements in the identification and mitigation of cyber risks. The suggested stack ensemble model has exceptional performance in terms of accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score, obtaining an overall detection accuracy of 98.7%. The results emphasise the potential of stack ensemble approaches in enhancing the capabilities of IDS, offering a dependable and scalable solution for contemporary cybersecurity concerns.
