Green Human Resources Management as Pro-Environmental Behaviour Driver in Emerging Economies: A Green Training Perspective
Over the past few decades, the conception that green human resource management (GHRM) strategies bring about a shift in the workforce's pro-environmental behaviour (WPEB) slowly took shape. Despite the escalating environmental regulations compelling firms to adopt sustainable practices and encouraging employees to participate in green training practices (GTP), this niche topic is still underexplored in various dimensions and across numerous parts of the world. This study investigated whether the relationship between GTP and WPEB is positive, based on several empirical evidence related to GHRM. It scrutinises the concept that GTP when executed in emerging economies, could promote a greener corporate culture (GCC) while strengthening its sustainability reputation and increasing its value to more prominent stakeholders. This study's literature exposes various obstacles that hinder the effective application of GHRM throughout four developmental regions, especially in the manufacturing and product engineering sectors. In light of this, a novel GTP strategic model is proposed that best aligns four learning methods with the unique cultural fabric and challenges developing nations face within the highly industrial environment and elevates the employee's comprehension and confidence in environmental initiatives.
