Optimizing Management Decision Strategies: A Framework for Sustainable Efficiency
Measuring the efficiency of universities is a general interest of the relevant researcher and practitioner that is generating demands, yet was debated due to the problem's complexity; such issue is extremely related to the combinatorial properties occurring in the case when it faces the selection regarding adequate attributes' combination, outputs and inputs. The efficiency of educational institutions can be measured by integrating AHP's (Analytic Hierarchy Process) as an estimated qualitative data and DEA's (Data Envelopment Analysis) as quantitative data for evaluating the performance of an organization and to enhance decision making by providing the proposed improvements in inputs and outputs to convert inefficient DMU (Decision Making Unit) to efficient. Using the suggested method was shown for identifying the performance and the relative efficiency for virtual colleges as a case study with ten inputs and six outputs. The promises of the results are significant and can be used as the basis for real evaluation in higher education for the purpose of performance evaluation.
