Noise Reduction in Drones using Silent Electric Ducted Fan

Innovative methods for reducing noise generated by drone propellers are explored, focusing on several key approaches. First, experiments were conducted using various airfoil geometries, followed by the implementation of airfoil-shaped ducts to enclose the propellers, effectively shielding noise emissions. Additionally, the use of coreless motors in place of brushless motors was tested to assess their impact on noise reduction. A suitable control circuit for integrating coreless motors into existing drone flight controller systems is presented. A novel approach to increasing the frequency of unavoidable noise, making it imperceptible to human hearing, is introduced. Finally, the limitations of active noise cancellation (ANC) in mitigating drone noise are discussed, providing a comprehensive overview of current challenges and solutions in drone acoustics.
