Towards Sustainable Water Supply Systems: A Design Case Study for Al Naseem Gated Community at Diyar Al Muharraq
The implementation of optimal and sustainable water supply systems is critical in water-scarce regions. In this study we focus on designing a sustainable water supply system for the Al Naseem Gated Community in Diyar Al Muharraq, Bahrain, addressing key water delivery challenges while ensuring environmental sustainability. Our methodology includes a review of global water supply practices and an assessment of Bahrain's specific issues, such as desalination reliance and groundwater depletion. We applied various optimization scenarios to enhance system performance and promote water conservation, utilizing Epanet software for modeling and comparisons between initial and optimized designs. The results include water demand forecasts, tank volume calculations, and tailored system designs. The study concludes with recommendations for advancing sustainable water supply solutions to meet the community's unique challenges.
