IV Smart: Empowering the Visually Impaired using AI-Driven Assistive Technology
AI-based innovative assistive technology system integrates several advanced features, including object detection, navigation, distance measurement, optical character recognition (OCR), and facial recognition, to provide comprehensive support in daily activities. The object detection component utilizes a camera to identify and classify objects in the user's environment, delivering real-time auditory feedback to aid in safe navigation and obstacle avoidance. The navigation module employs GPS technology to offer step-by-step guidance and auditory cues, enabling users to reach their desired destinations confidently. The distance measurement feature provides accurate barriers and hence , empowering users to decide their movements. OCR functionality captures and converts text to speech, allowing users access to written information, such as signs and documents. Additionally, the facial recognition feature identifies individuals in the user's vicinity, facilitating social interactions. This multifaceted system aims to equip with a robust set of tools to traverse environments independently and safely.
