Wheel-To-Watt: Dynamic Wheel Energy Harvesting for On-The-Go EV Charging

Electric vehicles (EVs) have gained immense popularity as environmentally friendly alternatives to traditional gasoline-powered cars. However, the limited driving range and the need for frequent charging remain key challenges to their widespread adoption. An innovative on-the-go charging system is introduced, utilizing hub motors to capture kinetic energy from the vehicle's wheels, stabilizing voltage through a buck-boost converter, regulating charging via a controller, and delivering power to the battery. In an era marked by the urgency of climate change and the pursuit of sustainability, the efficient generation and utilization of renewable energy sources are paramount. EVs, powered by electricity generated from renewable sources, hold the promise of reducing carbon emissions and mitigating the environmental impact of transportation. For EVs to realize their full potential as a sustainable mobility solution, it is essential to optimize energy efficiency and extend driving range. This project pioneers a revolutionary on-the-go charging system that enhances the practicality of EVs while contributing to the efficient use of renewable energy.
