Alfabetização corporal
In this essayistic study, the objective is to reflect in a problematizing way on the place it occupies in the complex literacy process so that we can rethink the purpose of Physical Education at school and its place in the subjects' literacy process. Starting from the readings of Silvino Santin's legacy, we systematize our argument in order to elucidate that, historically, literacy processes were related to the formation of human intelligence, disregarding bodily dimensions. This allows us to infer that the objective of Physical Education at school is the subjects' body literacy. To this end, the concept of body literacy, its centrality and the role of the teacher in this process are presented. The body is understood as a social production and experiencer of learning, therefore, in the literacy process, it must be taken as a teaching method. It points to the need for the area of Physical Education to move towards body pedagogies. Pedagogies that, in fact, choose the body as a teaching method and as a guiding axis for learning.
