Impact of Roof Thermal Insulation on Energy Performance in Buildings
This research emphasizes the critical role of energy analysis in the early stages of architectural design. By focusing on roof insulation, a key factor influencing building energy performance, the research aim is to optimize energy consumption and enhance sustainable design practices. Three villas from a housing project in Bahrain serve as case studies to explore the impact of different roof insulation strategies. Through energy modelling and analysis, energy saving potential associated with various insulation configurations will be quantified. By analysing the results, energy-efficient design strategies will be established. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of the relationship between roof insulation and building energy performance, substantially leading to more sustainable and energy-efficient buildings.
