Management Decision of Using Building Information Modeling in Recent Residential Construction Projects in Bahrain

The study is intended to examine the adoption of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology in modern residential construction projects in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Specifically, the purpose of the study is to shed more light on management decisions in adopting BIM technology in recent residential construction projects in Bahrain, a relatively under-investigated area in the West Asian region. To this end, the adoption of BIM is meant to encompass the respective customers' decisions, with the main objectives of the study being to explore how integrating BIM into residential construction management decisions is intended to drive project productivity and minimize errors with the use of collaborative business process management applied to residential house construction. Thus, the aims of the present research are as follows: 1. Evaluate whether embracing BIM in the residential construction sector would help expedite productivity in the construction sector in the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council, in terms of time, costs, and managing operational complexities seen in house construction. 2. Assess BIM as a better choice for residential construction customers than being part of errors that could develop from 2D or 3D CAD-made designs through to the construction phase of the project work. 3. Explore the possibilities of reducing the time needed to open up skilled personnel involved in a residential house construction project by adopting shorter tasks and activities and engaging everyone for better collaboration without linked causation-related disputes. 4. Seek a comprehensive study that would highlight any challenges in the residential house construction sector and ways forward for policymakers and future practices to address such latencies in the requirements of the economy in the region.
