Modern Traffic Safety Solution with GSM & GPS Enabled Speed Detection

The goal of this research is to increase road safety by measuring wheel RPM and identifying instances of over speeding using an inductive proximity sensor. An SMS warning is sent to a specified mobile number by the Atmega328 microcontroller, which analyses the sensor data and detects an RPM above a predetermined limit. The device, which has a GPS module, records location in real time and shows latitude and longitude on a 16 by 2 LCD panel. The prototype's wheel is simulated by a DC fan whose speed is adjusted by a potentiometer and which is placed in front of the sensor with a metal object. The technology sounds a siren and sends out a warning when the fan's RPM goes above the threshold. LEDs also give the driver a visual indicator of their speed. When the device reaches over speed, a relay driver regulates the DC fan; data processing and control are handled by the Atmega328 microcontroller, which is based on the Arduino Uno.
