The effect of wireless jump rope exercise and anti-obesity medication on body composition, health-related physical fitness, blood lipids and leptin in obese women
This study investigated the effects of wireless jump rope exercise and anti-obesity medication on body composition, physical fitness, blood lipids, and leptin in obese women. Subjects were randomly divided into four groups: control group (CG, n=8), exercise group (EG, n=8), medication group (MG, n=8), and combined exercise plus medication group (EMG, n=8). The exercise protocol was a 60-minute jump rope session at 40-70% of maximum heart rate, three times weekly for eight weeks. Data analysis used two-way repeated measures ANOVA and paired t-tests.<br/> Results showed significant body weight reduction in EG, MG, and EMG, with body fat percentage decreasing in MG and EMG. Muscle strength, muscle endurance, and flexibility increased in EG and EMG, while cardiopulmonary endurance improved in EG. Total cholesterol (TC) decreased in MG and EMG, triglycerides (TG) decreased in EG and EMG, and LDL-C decreased in EMG. HDL-C significantly decreased in EMG, while leptin levels increased in MG. The study suggests that combining anti-obesity medication with wireless jump rope exercise effectively improves body fat mass and blood lipid concentration, helping prevent lifestyle-related diseases in obese middle-aged women.
