An Investigation Into The Attitudes Of College Students In Both Urban And Rural Areas Toward Science

This study aims to investigate the attitudes of college students from urban and rural areas toward science. With the growing importance of science education in the modern world, understanding the differing perspectives and attitudes of students from diverse backgrounds is crucial for enhancing teaching strategies and curriculum development. A sample of college students from both urban and rural regions was surveyed using a structured questionnaire to assess their interest, perceptions, and attitudes toward science subjects. The research examines factors such as the influence of socio-economic background, access to resources, and cultural differences on students' attitudes toward science. The findings highlight significant differences between the two groups, with urban students generally exhibiting more positive attitudes toward science compared to their rural counterparts. This disparity is attributed to factors like better exposure to modern scientific resources, teaching methods, and extracurricular opportunities in urban areas. The study suggests that targeted interventions, such as improving access to scientific resources and enhancing science education in rural areas, could bridge this gap. The results underscore the need for inclusive strategies to foster a more equitable interest in science across diverse student populations.
