A methodological approach to assessing the sustainable development of the socio-industrial infrastructure of rural areas

This study is devoted to the development of a methodological approach to assessing the sustainable development of the socio-industrial infrastructure of rural areas. The main problem is the lack of knowledge and tools for making managerial decisions in this area. The authors of this article propose a methodology based on the analysis of data from municipalities of the Nizhny Novgorod region, using the mathematical apparatus of multidimensional scaling and factor analysis. The research methodology includes several stages: data standardization, index calculation, analysis of socio-economic development by key blocks, spatial design and modeling. An important element is the construction of a positioning map, which allows you to visualize the interaction of various factors of rural development. Based on the factor analysis, the authors have identified two main axes: «Objects of household and cultural social infrastructure» and «Ways to intensify agricultural production». The study revealed that the most competitive municipality is the Pochinkovsky district, due to the developed social infrastructure and successful activities in the agricultural sector. The authors emphasize the importance of using the data obtained to develop strategies for socio-economic development at the municipal level. The proposed approach makes it possible to objectively assess the level of sustainability of infrastructure development, identify potential for improvement and form recommendations for authorities. This is especially relevant in the context of increasing investment attractiveness and improving the quality of life in rural areas. The study demonstrates the effectiveness of using mathematical methods to analyze complex socio-economic processes, and also emphasizes the need for further development of the theoretical and methodological base in this area.
