The Intentionality of the Political Discourse of Proclamation in the Maqamat of Badi' al-Zaman al-Hamadhani
The research examines the intentionality of the political discourse of proclamation in the Maqamat of Badi' al-Zaman al-Hamadhani. Al-Hamadhani successfully employed proclamation discourse in his Maqamat as a means to convey social and cultural messages, through which he offered satirical criticism of the prevalent social and political phenomena of his time. He used this genre to publicize his views, thoughts, and perspectives, demonstrating that the purpose of creating the Maqamat was not limited to entertainment and educating the youth, as commonly understood about this unique literary genre. Rather, it extended to an attempt to deeply influence thought and society.
