The Intellectual Structure of Chaebol Literature
This research paper employs author co-citation analysis using the CiteSpace program to explore the intellectual structure of the literature on chaebols, the large family-owned business conglomerates that dominate the South Korean economy. The analysis is based on 371 documents extracted from the Web of Science database and conducted cluster analysis, burst detection analysis, and timeline analysis. Through the cluster analysis identified 9 sub-areas, with the largest cluster labeled "Board Reform" and the second-largest labeled "Affiliated Analyst Performance". Burst detection analysis revealed 5 highly influential references, while the timeline analysis traced the chronological development of the research clusters. The findings provide insights into the evolution and key areas of research on this important but understudied aspect of the Korean business landscape.
